Download file checksum01 · Prepare your devices
- Use an Android 8.0 or later phone with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) as the collection phone. Provide Wi-Fi or mobile data.
- Use a BMS with a compatible Bluetooth interface. Experimental adapters cover common Ant, JK, JBD, Daly and Lanmao/Saihang protocols; verify your exact model and firmware. Discovery alone does not prove compatibility.
- Use your everyday iPhone or Android as the viewer. Both phones must use the same server and account; they do not need to be on the same Wi-Fi.
- Check readings in the manufacturer’s app first, then disconnect that app from the BMS to avoid competing Bluetooth connections. Provide suitable continuous power and a ventilated location for the collection phone.
02 · Download & install
- Open the support page in a browser on the collection phone and tap Download Android APK. If an embedded browser cannot download it, open the page in your regular browser.
- Use the recommended build for recent Android phones. Choose the matching 32-bit or x86 build under “Other device versions & file verification” if needed. Install only one APK. Open the completed download from browser downloads or Files/Downloads. The recommended file is easy-bms-android-0.1.8-arm64-v8a.apk.
- If Android asks, enable Install unknown apps / Allow from this source for the browser or file manager you used. Return to the installer. You can turn this permission off after installation.
- Confirm the app name is Easy BMS, tap Install, then Open. If the system blocks installation, review the reason; managed devices may need administrator authorization.
Updating an earlier version
This build introduces a dedicated release signing key. Earlier development/test builds cannot be updated in place and may show a signature mismatch or “App not installed.” Keep the old app online until pending uploads finish, export records you need, note your account and server, and stop collection. Then uninstall the old app, install this one, reconnect and authorize collection.
Uninstalling clears local settings, diagnostic frames and pending data; uploaded records in the same cloud account remain. Future packages signed with this release key and a higher version code can be installed as updates.
Success: Easy BMS appears on the phone and opens to sign-in or registration.
03 · Sign in to the same account
- Tap Create account if new, using your own email and a password of at least 8 characters. Otherwise sign in. The support email is not a default login account.
- The default service URL is prefilled. Usually no change is needed. For your own deployment, expand Server connection and enter its reachable HTTPS URL.
- Sign in to the same account on the viewer and verify the server matches. Select the intended battery if one already exists; otherwise continue with connection setup.
The viewer displays uploads only for the same server and account.
04 · Connect & verify readings
- On Android’s dashboard tap Set up collection. If a battery is already shown, use the collection-phone card and View local collection, then follow its setup button.
- Turn on Bluetooth and move close to the BMS. Allow Nearby devices/Bluetooth permissions when prompted. Android 11 and earlier may also need location permission and location services for scanning; vehicle coordinates are not uploaded.
- Select your BMS. If missing, enable Show all Bluetooth devices, verify its name/address/signal and tap Next: verify connection.
- Keep automatic detection and tap Detect & read automatically. Compare pack voltage, current, cell count and temperatures with manufacturer readings; a device name is not evidence of compatibility.
- Only after checking actual readings, acknowledge that you verified them against the manufacturer’s app, then tap Continue battery setup. If detection fails, use troubleshooting; diagnostic collection does not provide real monitoring.
Without a BMS, choose the simulated-data option. Simulated readings are explicitly labeled and are for demonstration only.
Success: the detected protocol and readings appear, and battery-profile setup becomes available.
05 · Set up the profile & start collection
- Check battery name, chemistry, cell count and optional rated capacity in Ah. Cell count must match the physical battery. Leave capacity blank if unknown. When reusing a profile, verify it belongs to this battery.
- Tap Save & prepare collection. On the collection screen, complete Before locking the screen: allow continuous background operation, remove battery restrictions, enable collection notifications and check auto-start where available.
- On Sony phones, additionally set Easy BMS to Unrestricted in its power-saving settings and confirm the actual setting in the app. Other manufacturers use different menu names; use the provided settings links.
- Return and tap Check settings again, then Authorize & start collection. Complete any permission prompts. If replacing an authorization, confirm that the previous collection phone should lose upload access.
- Check BMS connection and Data upload: real samples should be available, a recent successful upload should appear, and the ongoing collection notification should remain visible.
Success: collection is running and a recent successful upload time is shown. Bluetooth connection alone is insufficient.
06 · Verify locked-screen & remote updates
- Open the same battery on the remote phone and compare voltage, current and the reading timestamp. Verify that readings continue updating.
- Switch the viewer to mobile data or another Wi-Fi network to check remote access. Keep the collection phone within Bluetooth range and online.
- Lock the collection phone for at least 15 minutes and confirm that the reading timestamp continues advancing on the viewer. Resolve background, network or Bluetooth issues before repeating the check.
- Set software alert thresholds using the battery manufacturer’s specifications. On the viewer use Account → Notification checks to review permission, registration and push configuration, and send a test. Confirm actual display on the phone.
This Android package does not configure JPush. The ongoing collection notification is available; Android system alert push needs separate configuration. iPhone alert push needs correctly configured APNs in the iOS app and server. Remote readings do not depend on JPush.
Ready for everyday use: actual readings verified, recent uploads confirmed, updates continue while locked, and the viewer works over an external network.
07 · Everyday use & stopping collection
- Check power, connectivity and reading timestamps regularly. Offline readings can be cached and retried within time, count and size limits; the cache is not a permanent backup.
- To pause, tap Stop local collection and confirm. Use Resume local collection or follow setup prompts to restart. Stopping collection does not switch battery power off.
- When replacing a collection phone, review or unbind it under Account → Batteries & gateways, then connect, verify and authorize the new phone. Replacing authorization may prevent old pending data from uploading.
- Signing out of the viewer does not stop separately authorized collection. Wait for uploads before uninstalling the collection app. Manual stop, force-stop, shutdown and revoked permissions can interrupt updates.
If the viewer says the current battery state is unknown, inspect the collection phone. Previous readings cannot establish that the battery is currently normal. Easy BMS only monitors; it does not modify BMS protection settings or remotely cut power.
08 · Troubleshooting
Cannot download or install
Use your regular browser, finish the download, check storage and Android 8.0 or later, and authorize the installation source. For earlier test builds follow the signature-change instructions above. Do not install a package with a lower version code than the installed app.
BMS does not appear
Check that the BMS is powered and Bluetooth is enabled. Move closer, allow scan permissions and older-Android location services, disconnect the manufacturer’s app, and try Show all Bluetooth devices.
Connected, but no battery readings
Your protocol or firmware may be unsupported. Diagnostic collection stores raw frames and does not produce battery readings. Record the BMS model, firmware and error, and use diagnostic export if needed. Dianling and other retrofit modules require exact model/protocol verification.
Updates stop after locking
Check background preparation, manufacturer battery restrictions, auto-start, collection notifications and network. On Sony also check the Unrestricted setting. Resume in the app and repeat the locked-screen test for at least 15 minutes.
Uploads succeed, but the viewer has no data
Verify the same server, account and battery; refresh and compare timestamps. If uploads fail or the pending queue grows, check collection-phone connectivity and authorization.
System alerts do not arrive
Check notification settings and actual push configuration on the viewer. JPush is not configured in this Android package. Ongoing collection notifications and remote readings are separate features.
